"What a wonderful experience. A time to learn a new skill in a supportive environment. I have surprised myself by being able to make some very beautiful and satisfying paintings!" Cathy
A 10 week painting course covering acrylic and watercolour techniques. Each session is 2 hours long, giving you plenty of time to master new techniques and create your own pieces. You'll learn how to handle paint, mix colours and capture your subject in different ways. You’ll try a range of subject matter including still life, landscape and portraiture. This will provide you with the best opportunity to develop your skills and you'll be encouraged to find your own unique painting style as the course develops.
You’ll be part of a small class which means you’ll get lots of individual support alongside the tutor demonstrations. The course is tailored to the needs of the group and you will have the opportunity to feed into what you'd like to learn. If you’ve never been to an art class before, don’t worry! The classes are always relaxed and suitable for all levels.
"This class has been the highlight of my week. The opportunity to create and experiment in a friendly and supportive atmosphere has been liberating." Ben

I am unable to offer you any refund if your course is due to commence within 10 days. I reserve the right to cancel any course or class at any time. If this happens you can choose either a full refund or a transfer to an alternative course/ date.
The Studio is based in Meanwhile House, just a 10 minute walk from Cardiff Central station. We're just off Curran Embankment. From Penarth Road take the turning between Big Yellow Storage and Kwik Fit and it's the first turning on the left.
Daytime: The carpark outside the building is reserved for staff only until 6pm on weekdays and this is monitored. The nearest street parking is just over the bridge along the river on either Taff Embankment or Taffs Mead Embankment. This is charged with meters so do check the signs but it is a very short walk from here to the studio. It is also just a 10 minute walk from Cardiff Central train station so easily accessible by public transport. If you do require parking on site I have one visitor permit that can be used by students with prior arrangement but this is reserved only for those who really need it.
Evenings: The carpark on site is available to visitors on weekends and from 6pm on weekdays. Please park along the gate opposite the building, not in any of the spaces which are reserved. If you arrive early for your class I'd advise you wait with your car until 6pm just in case of a permit inspection.
The studio is on the first floor, accessed via a staircase. Due to the restrictions of the building I'm afraid there is no lift, please let me know if you have any access requirements which will make this difficult for you.
